Personality	Crataegus is as abrasive as he looks. He'd rather tend plants in peace than have tourists in his garden, disrupting mychorrizal networks and wandering dumbly into patches of poison oak. "Misanthrope" may as well be his middle name. Directly confronting or harming people isn't his style, but if a garden visitor is about to touch a stinging nettle, he takes great pleasure in holding his tongue and watching the fallout. Though he's unfriendly to all outsiders, he has a particular dislike for humans. No photosynthesis capability, no thorns, no fangs, no wings... Crataegus just doesn't see the point! He's often at odds with his sister Clary, who seems almost to care for the idiots wandering the garden. Were he able to shapeshift, he'd happily replace her as tour guide - "here's the oleander, don't bother watching your step!"
