| Personality | Portent runs a fortune-telling business at Caelestis Cove which has become rather a hidden gem for tourists. They're particularly gifted at crystal scrying and tea-leaf reading, but just about whatever method the client fancies will do! They dabble in all types of 'mancy, and they're always happy to discover a new one they haven't yet tried. Whether skeptic or believer, their clients always walk away feeling deeply understood. Portent genuinely loves getting to know people and hearing stories from abroad. Their gift for divination is also genuine, thanks to a little magic they've picked up! While they can't tell you the winning lottery numbers or the date and time of your death, they can give you little hints on how to set your life on the right track. Their most common clients are sailors and potential Novos. Portent has a knack for meteorology (which is less magic and more keen observation), but they're also very in tune with whatever makes a good Draconar, and they'll happily call it out! Ironically, the one person whose potential Portent hasn't divined is their own - so when they were called to attend the Island Court's debut at Lantessama Bay, they thought it was some sort of prank. Indeed, it seems Portent's keen attention to detail stops at matters of the self. They're constantly forgetting where they put their tea, only putting on one of a pair of earrings, or misplacing their favourite ring. Portent is also genuinely surprised at every single compliment or thank-you they receive, as if they're completely unaware of their own talent and worth. They don't self-deprecate, and seem genuinely happy and confident, but Portent just can't wrap their head around how amazing some people find them! |
